Rick Danford

Born in New York and raised in Florida, Rick Danford has always wanted to be in the movies. Early on there were dreams of acting with extra work in films like IN THE LINE OF DUTY: THE FBI MURDERS starring David Soul, Bruce Greenwood and Michael Gross and the low budget Indie PHANTOM OF THE RITZ. Then as time marched on he found his home behind the camera. Rick began the Indie Film Company RENEGADE FILMS along with his very talented friends Kerry Hogan and Paul DeNicolo. Together they dove into their first feature film, THE WEB OF DARKNESS which starred FX Master Tom Savini and Legendary Scream Queen Brinke Stevens. Essentially learning their way as production rolled on, the film was beset by one disaster after another. But years later it has finally been released on DVD. RENEGADE FILMS also produced the short films, BLOOD MONEY, THE PLEDGE and BLOODY MARY. The trio also ran a very successful SAINTS & SINNERS FILM FESTIVAL at The State Theater in St. Petersburg, Florida for several years.

In time the Renegade boys eventually parted ways and Rick went on to create ENIGMA FILMS. There Rick put together a Horror Film Festival called THE HALLOWEEN HORROR PICTURE SHOW, which is still going strong since 2002. ENIGMA FILMS has also produced a couple of short films including THE REAPER, THE THING UNDER THE BED and the Award Winning ALARUM. THE REAPER was an Official Selection of THE NEW YORK CITY HORROR FILM FESTIVAL. Most recently Rick and ENIGMA FILMS shot the family friendly horror short film, THE BOOK OF NIGHTMARES and it was during that shoot that Rick took on managing the Rock/Jazz fusion band AMERICAN NOIR that produced the title track for the short. Together with filmmaker Daryn Murphy, they also created a Music Video for the track.

Rick has since teamed up with local filmmaker Andy Lalino and actor Joel Wynkoop to create FANDOMONIUM IN TAMPABAY, an organization intent on raising awareness for Indie films and the filmmakers behind them in the Tampa Bay area. He is launching a digital magazine that will focus on the Independent Horror Scene called, INDIE HORROR JUNKIE and is currently seeking funding for a game-changing Zombie script he wrote along with Tom Savini, who is set to Direct, called DEATH ISLAND. Rick is currently preparing to go into production with a dramatic thriller called THE LOST as well as putting together a web series called DAWN AND THE DEAD. His ultimate dream is to help Central Florida become the Hollywood of the South and he intends to do it, one project at a time.
